I thought this was Write Well U. What's all the fuss about AuthorSmart?

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who loved words and stories. She wrote all sorts of stories from bears in the woods to princesses. When she grew up, she wanted to share this passion for words and writing with others. With a few twists and turns of the path, she landed at Write Well U, helping writers write well.

Dawn was a genius at developing programs and classes on creativity, style, and the writing process. Her programs are intense, but fun, too. But was there more?

In another land far, far away was another little girl. And she loved words, too, as well as the the beautiful look of pictures and colors and books. When this little girl grew up, she played with colors and helped people make their lives brighter by bringing their passions and products out into the world.

Gail was passionate about helping authors bring their stories to the world, and so she created AuthorSmart to do just that - give would-be as well as experienced authors access to information about the whole spectrum of creating a book and putting it out to the world.

One day, the two little girls met and recognized a fellow passion for words, writing, books, authors, and publishing. Gail was ready to go find a different path, and so she and Dawn came to an arrangement: AuthorSmart would become part of Write Well U, and now Write Well U could help writers along the entire writing and publishing path.

On May 1, 2009, Write Well U unveiled its impressive faculty list as well as its robust spring/summer program offering. With classes from the writing process (yes, grammar does matter) to lasered topics like indexing to marketing and publicity to platform to sustainability... authors can get the information they need to better plan their writing journey.

And while we do believe that it's the journey and not the destination that is ultimately important, we also know that when it comes to writing and publishing a book, the destination is significant, too. We're here to make the journey to that end destination as easy and informed as possible.

So that's the story. Now what?

Here's what you need to know about our classes at Write Well U...

Ready, Set, Write and Writing Essentials Program are writing intensive programs - meaning there's work, you're expected to participate, and you're going to come out of these classes more confident in your writing.

Any classes prefaced with an AuthorSmart title range from single-session classes introducing a particular topic appropriate for authors and the various stages of writing and publishing a book. Multi-session series teleclasses go deeper into a topic, giving a more intermediate experience. Mastery-level classes are just what they sound like: in-depth forays into a topic.
